Sustainability is a broad concept. Basically, it means achieving the right balance between people, the environment and the economy to create a sustainable world and make sure we use the planet’s resources responsibly and don't exhaust them.
The team at Lubbe Lisse feels very strongly about sustainability and is committed to making society sustainable. We are doing our bit to create a healthy environment and promote ecological, economic and social growth in public spaces.
Human activities are increasingly disrupting all kinds of natural processes, causing things like deforestation, desertification and the greenhouse effect and affecting the basic things we take for granted, including clean air and water.
It’s vital for us to make sure our planet is inhabitable for future generations. With sustainability and biodiversity high up on our customers’ agendas, we advise them to use bee and insect-friendly mixtures. They contain types of bulb that will bloom and produce nectar and pollen at a time of year when bees need really need both.
From sustainable product development to an energy-neutral environment.
27% Lower CO2 emissions: By minimising transport movements when transporting our flower bulbs.
76% Cleaner air: By bicycle. 76% of our employees travel to work by bike or in electric cars.
100% electric: Most of our fleet of planting machines, tractors and cars and equipment are electric.
Lighting: Lubbe Lisse only uses LED lighting, which is far more sustainable.
Sustainability is key in every part of our production chain.
We aim to achieve the right balance between people, planet and profit throughout the process, which starts at the “in-take” and ends after planting.
We are very committed to the environment and sustainability. You can see this from our certifications. They show that all our flower bulbs and seeds meet European legal standards for ecological products and production methods.
